Webinar: Dmytro Vitalyev – сonversation with a digital security expert

In a framework of the joint Center for Civil Liberties & ABA ROLI project “Promoting Internet Freedom in Ukraine” on 9 March 2023 CCL conducted a lecture on the three types of censorship on the Internet (DDoS attacks; website censorship; internet disconnections).

Syllabus: Getting the cybersecurity conversation started can be unsettling. But it’s better to talk about it today than answer questions about what you should have done after a problem occurred in the future. This lecture will be customized to the realities of the situation in Ukraine today. Please join us in conversation with the founder and director of eQualitie, an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting human rights on the Internet. eQualitie creates decentralized internet services in support of a more equal and equitable network.

At the webinar we will learn about:

– The digital chimera: three types of censorship on the Internet (DDoS attacks; website censorship; internet disconnections).

– The rise of decentralized networking as a tool for sovereignty; unrestricted communications and staying in touch with occupied territories.
