Oleksandra Matviichuk is on Marie Claire’s list of 20 Women Who Have Inspired Us This Year
Oleksandra Matviichuk, Head of the Center for Civil Liberties, was included in Marie Claire’s 2023 Power List as a brave woman who defends human rights and whose organization won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022.
Candidates can be included in the list regardless of what they do, whether they build successful businesses, speak out about important issues, fight discrimination, win sports awards, or make popular films. The main criterion is that they must believe in their mission, take important steps to realize it, and inspire others.
Oleksandra is among the twenty, along with other influential women: First Lady Olena Zelenska, singer and activist Beyoncé, actress Margot, swimmers and refugee advocates Sarah and Usra Mardini, singer Taylor Swift, director Greta Gerwig, soccer player Sam Kerr, and others.
“She appears on news programs around the world, talking about human rights violations and how Russia should be held accountable for war crimes. Last year, on behalf of her organization, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the first Nobel Prize for a Ukrainian citizen or group,” Marie Claire wrote about Matviichuk.
Marie Claire is Australia’s No.1 fashion magazine.
