Democracy helps to win wars, – Oleksandra Romantsova

Democracy is the driving force that will allow Ukraine to win the war against Russia. This was stated in the program “In the field of view” of the Black Sea Television and Radio Company by the executive director of the Center for Civil Liberties (CCL) Oleksandra Romantsova.

“It’s just that democracy helps win wars. In Ukraine, we now see motivated people who are responsible and fight for their state, realize their vision of the state, and this is a democracy,” she said. Thus, Oleksandra Romantsova answered the question of how the concepts of “war” and “democracy” can be equated.

According to the executive director of the CCL, the ability to unite people in groups, when people are ready to find a compromise and negotiate, it strengthens the ability of Ukrainian resistance, which opposes authoritarian Russia.

“It turns out that all this helps to fight for the country that has chosen the opposite path for itself. [In Russia] there is one person who has a vision and who absolutely wanted to sneeze in principle in the interests of others. That is, here we choose the state to respect our interests, because we, the citizens of Ukraine, organize the state,” Oleksandra Romantsova stressed.

She also noted that it is our democracy, which we sometimes dislike (because of quarrels, and political processes) that motivates Ukrainians to fight for their state.

The Executive Director of the CCL stressed that despite the war, democracy in Ukraine is stable and has the potential for development.
