Sentsova case

Russian human rights activist, leader of the movement “For Human Rights” and a member of the Moscow Helsinki Group, Lev Ponomarev believes that homecoming Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsova and Aleksandra Kolchenko, Gennadi Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko take place, as the Russian authorities are interested in this. On the other hand it is certain that the beginning of this procedure – is one of the elements of trade-related issue Hope Savchenko. According to human rights activist for Russian Ukrainian aviator – is too valuable an asset for which the Kremlin may require greater political concessions.

If the transfer goes wrong, then it will be a huge defeat for Russia and, above all, for the Russian authorities. Therefore, I am inclined to believe that the transfer will take place, and it will, of course, be some conditions for the Russian side.

I think that the actual return of the children in Ukraine will happen fast enough. Yes, there are certain steps that the Supreme Court has yet to confirm this decision, but in general, the Russian government is interested in this. They are, however, say that in this process an enormous role to play some kind of legal problems. I know what country I live in, and what role we play legal problems – a role they have not played. This once again confirms the thesis that behind all this kind of trade. Putin certainly ask something in return.

Rather, the question here is increasingly associated with Hope Savchenko. Because this is the first exchange, which anticipates the possible exchange Savchenko. Unfortunately, (condemned in the “case Sentsova”) about these Ukrainian hostages, who are now in Russia, we spoke little. We talked mostly about Hope. Because too dramatic it all happened. And then we find out that they are preparing the exchange of someone else. So Russia makes it clear that “we can exchange, you see, we begin to exchange convicted on” business Sentsova “we even started the procedure. But Nadezhda Savchenko, we will ask for more.”

Now there is talk about how to exchange Sentsova and the rest on Russian GRU. And probably will. A previously said that they exchanged Savchenko. And then the question arises: who will be me hope? So – will demand political concessions. Perhaps sharing Savchenko will be associated with the cancellation or partial lifting of sanctions, some steps associated with the Minsk Agreement. I do not know what there is trade, but Russia Savchenko – is a big asset that they can put aside and demand more concessions.
