Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine should start working in the nearest future

On the election of the head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and his work in the studio of TV news channel “24,” said human rights activist and co-chair of the Kharkiv Human Rights Group, according to the election commission secretary of the head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau Evgeniy Zaharov.

According to him, the candidate Viktor Chumak looked good throughout the selection, but he did not declare all of their income. Another detail that struck unpleasant commission is that Chumak wrote in his biography that he left the Communist Party in 1989, is actually the application for release, he wrote.

In addition, Zakharov said, this candidate was politically engaged.

Zakharov admitted that a certain pressure on the commission’s work was even on the part of candidates.

Two candidates – Artem Sitnik and Nikolay Siry passed all the stages of testing and their candidates have filed for election of the president. They both seem to us in terms of the moral is quite decent people. I myself talked to them three times. I note that we have chosen the people away from the government, they are not very wealthy – said Zakharov.

He added that the Anti-Corruption Bureau has to make in the near future. At the same time receive offers from other countries for assistance in the establishment and functioning of the Office, including the financial, technical and expert.

Zakharov also said even if the Anti-Corruption Bureau would work now, it would not have been able to make a difference to the resonant arrest and later release on bail Sergeya Bochkovskogo and his deputy.

Moreover, said Zakharov, the idea is to remove the pledge is contrary to European standards, in this case, it is necessary to look for other options.
