Ukrainian MFA decisively protests against the conviction of four Crimean Tatars
MFA of Ukraine decisively protests against the conviction of the four Ukrainian citizens, Ruslan ZEYTULLAEV, Ferat SAYFULLAYEV, Rustem VAITOV and Nuri PRIMOV, by the Russian military court in Rostov-on-Don.
“Groundlessness of the judgement, disregard of the evidence, provided by the defence, that our compatriots have not been privy to terrorist activities, carrying out or planning any violent acts, and numerous flagrant infringements during the preliminary investigation and the trial,” states the Ministry, “convincingly prove that the Ukrainian citizens became political hostages of Russia’s aggressive policy against Ukraine.”
The Foreign Ministry strongly condemns yet another judicial farce arranged by the Russian authorities and demands them immediately disaffirm the illegal sentence. It also calls on the international community to continue its pressure on Moscow in order to release all Ukrainian political hostages.
