“The voices of millions of ordinary people from different countries can change the history of the world more quickly than any intervention by the UN.” Oleksandra Matviychuk receives the Yochem Pahl Peace Prize

The organizers awarded the Yochem Pahl Peace Prize to the head of the Center for Civil Liberties, Oleksandra Matviichuk, in recognition of “her dedication to the fight against injustice and the documentation of war crimes at great personal risk, her fearless work during the occupation of Crimea and the atrocities in Donbas.” The jury referred to the Tribunal for Putin initiative as “an example of an impassioned struggle for freedom and humanity”.

The award is a symbol of Mr. Yochem Pahl’s lifelong efforts to change the world for the better  for the sake of humanity and world peace. As he traveled the world, he saw a lot of misery, which made him want to help improve the world. “Every person has the right to be recognized and respected, regardless of race, color, religion, or education,” he declared. He bequeathed his entire fortune to the Foundation he had established, and stipulated in his will that the Pahl Peace Prize be used to honor and support individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to world peace.“Ordinary people are much more influential than they think they are. The voices of millions of ordinary people from different countries can change the history of the world more quickly than any intervention by the UN,” Oleksandra Matviichuk commented on the award.
