OZON Volunteers Monitored an Assembly Organized by the “Money for the Armed Forces” Initiative 

On Saturday, November 30, the “Money for the Armed Forces” initiative held an action near the Kyiv City Council. Participants of the action, with posters, slogans, and performance, demanded that the city council allocate funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (instead of 0.6% of the budget, allocate 20% of the funds).

The OZON monitoring group began monitoring at 11:53.

At the peak of the action, OZON volunteers recorded 281 participants with an error of 20 people.

At 12:02, participants began to gather under the Kyiv City Council building, adjusted the loudspeaker, and provided comments to the media.

At 12:07, a loudspeaker announced the start of the action. The organizers explained the reason and purpose of the action.

Some participants stood under the carriageway with posters and encouraged drivers to signal to support the action.

At around 12:39, one of the participants in the action performed a performance: he completely took off his outerwear and doused himself with red paint. The participant’s body had the words “Not only dick (meaning Putin) but also corruption are destroying us” written on it (on his back), “FREE AZOV” and “Money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for security” (on his stomach). His mouth was taped with tape with the words “Don’t be silent”. During this, everyone shouted slogans.

The following media outlets were present at the event: “Suspilne”, “1+1”, “Novyny live”, “Kyiv 24”.

During the event, the following slogans were chanted:

  • Money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine!
  • Klitschko, come to us!
  • Allocate, appropriate, report!
  • Kyiv City State Administration buys UAVs!
  • Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
  • Glory to the Nation! Death to the enemies!
  • Ukraine above all!
  • Three times glory to the defenders of Ukraine! Glory! Glory! Glory!
  • Kyiv is a city for life!

Participants also came with numerous posters, including:

  • “MONEY FOR THE AFU”
  • “I don’t care about solutions when there are no electronic warfare devices at the frontline”
  • “Not solutions, but drones for the military”
  • “20% FOR THE AFU”
  • “I’ll bite for money for the Ukrainian Defence Forces” (poster of a dog)
  • “My dog’s business” (poster of a dog)
  • “DO YOU SUPPORT?! SIGNAL!”
  • “Life is more important than parks”
  • “Pohuism is a murder weapon”
  • “Ukrainian money for the Ukrainian army”
  • “0.6% is treason, not support”
  • “No parks until the defenders have weapons!”
  • “And how should they shoot the rusnya with a flowerbed?”
  • “Kyiv can exist without parks, but Kyiv can’t exist without Kyivans”
  • “A billion for the Rusorez!”
  • “Drones are better than a flowerbed!”
  • “The Kyiv City State Administration forgot who is in power here?”
  • “0.6%?”
  • “We really wanted there to be paradise here, but it’s clear that we were just abandoned”
  • “20% of the budget for the Armed Forces of Ukraine”
  • “Let’s change, or we will die”
  • “Someone gives the last, and someone steals the last”

Work of law enforcement agencies.

The peaceful assembly was protected by:

  • 7 dialogue police officers, 1 of whom was without a badge.
  • 9 patrol police officers, 2 of whom were without badges.
  • 4 officers of the Main Police Department, 3 of whom were without badges.
  • 5 officers of the Special Purpose Police (+ probably a reserve in a bus) without badges.
  • 3 security police officers
  • 5 police officers

Also, volunteers recorded 2 police officers without any identification marks.

3 police cars, 3 police buses (probably with a reserve of a special police vehicle), and 1 police officer were recorded in the nearby area.

Episode. At 12:15 during the assembly, officers of the Main Police Department and Special Purpose Police (the police were standing 2-3 meters away from the check) carried out a superficial check of bags of several participants of the gathering, who were representatives of the organization “Ukrainian Blood Unity”. The OZON monitoring group did not record any violations during the check. One of the Main Police Department officers who conducted the check was armed, wearing a helmet, without a badge. The Main Police Department police asked to show their bags, in general, the check took 5-6 minutes.

At 12:50, a minute of silence was held, after which the participants performed the anthem.

The action ended at 12:55, its participants finally dispersed by 13:15.

At 13:19, the OZON volunteers completed the monitoring.
