In Ukraine, the need to coordinate the collection of evidence about the crimes of the Russian Federation in Crimea

In Ukraine, the need to create a single focal point for the collection of evidence on human rights violations and criminal actions of Russia in the Crimea, which can be presented to the international courts. The decision to establish such a center at the National Security Council was made, however, according to human rights activists, it is not working properly.

This was stated by the lawyer of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union Darya Sviridova.

“Today we are witnessing such a problem as a lack of coordination between government agencies is a problem of gathering evidence (on the facts of human rights violations) and coordination:. Someone from government agencies any information is and therefore can provide it in one or another legal instance of communication which corresponds to a particular ministry. And that’s the problem. You just have to understand that a large amount of evidence, documents that are necessary to study the court. In the first place, it is necessary to state udarstvu prepare, and secondly, to study the court to come to a meaningful examination of the complaint. This is a lengthy process, requiring a lot of time physically. We’re in a wait position, while the court examines the documents and proceed to communication with countries.

Government Commissioner for the ECHR, the Deputy Minister of Justice Ivan Lishchyna said human rights activist, saying that such a coordination center is created by the National Security Council.

“Now we create it, a special council at the National Security Council, which will include representatives of all the organs, leading to cases in international courts plus representatives of all government agencies with relevant information -.. SBU Natspolitsiya, prosecutors and so on, – said Lishchyna .
