Crimea residents will trust the Ukraine only through concrete actions

According to Daria Sviridova, the lawyer of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Crimean team can strengthen their faith in Ukraine due to more specific and simple steps of the state to meet them. Ukrainian authorities today should help address issues such as the evacuation of property of citizens of annexed the peninsula and access to banking services.

This Sviridov said in his speech at the international forum “Crimea under occupation: consequences for Ukraine and the world.”

“On behalf of Crimean residents appeal to the Ukrainian authorities with a request to make to meet the people who live in the occupied territories of the peninsula a few simple and specific steps. Let’s not wait another three years for the solution of the problem nerezidentsii Crimean, the issue of evacuation of their property from the annexed territories and the issue access to banking services. All of this can be solved today, if you put some effort. They do not need to be addressed through international institutions, but it does strengthen the people’s faith in stolen y “- said Sviridov.

According to her, the government should be responsible for the residents of the Crimea, it’s just wrong to adopt a law on the occupied territories and the entire responsibility for the violation of human rights and freedoms translate into the Russian Federation.

“I am aware that the aggressor State would not take care of the problem of creating an international platform for the negotiations, but this does not exempt Ukraine from the search for solutions”, – the lawyer added.

At this time, as noted by Sviridov, human rights activists recorded and submitted to the international courts a few dozen complaints about violations of the rights and freedoms of the inhabitants of the peninsula. Among them: the constant persecution of religious citizens, as well as the persecution of freedom of speech.

Recall, MP Irina Gerashchenko said that Ukraine will not make any concessions on the part of Russia and will work towards the full resumption of the territorial integrity of the State – the liberation from the occupation of Donbass and the Crimea.
