“Give Ukraine weapons”, Oleksandra Matviichuk for The Telegraph

Oleksandra Matviichuk, Head of the Center for Civil Liberties, joined the show podcast of the prominent British newspaper The Telegraph. It was its latest anniversary episode in Kyiv, released on 24 February, the anniversary of the full-scale invasion.

Telegraph journalists David Knowles, Francis Dearnley, and Dominic Nicholls talked to the Head of the Center for Civil Liberties. They discussed the idea that Russia must lose in order to stop World War III. But Ukraine needs weapons for this.

“As a human rights lawyer, I have spent many years implementing laws to protect people and human dignity. But now I find myself in a situation where the law doesn’t work. It is because Russian troops are deliberately shelling residential buildings, schools, churches and hospitals. They are abducting, robbing, raping and killing civilians… and no UN policy of peace and security can stop it”, Oleksandra stressed.
