Jail problem – with regard to detainees

It is important that at the stage of investigation is under the protection of a person does not feel any psychological or physical pressure. This was stated by Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Alexander Pavlichenko.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov plans to establish a system of temporary detention facilities according to European standards, which will report to the National Police. Such an approach, he said, “will eliminate the possibility of investigation of influence on the regime and conditions of detention.” Avakov said that currently one such insulator is already in force in Ukraine – Severodonetsk. It was from his example will reform the entire system of temporary detention.

A new initiative of the Interior Minister on the radio station ” Voice of Capital ” commented Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union Alexander Pavlichenko.

“Most of the temporary detention, which is quite a lot in Ukraine, to date, of course, need to improve the standards stay there faces, and first of all it should not be the standard of physical content, and, in fact, attitude to persons who are in these centers. this refers to the administration, namely, representatives Natspolitsii, which should provide control over the content of these persons to avoid violations. Earlier it was reported that staff Lukyanovka (Kiev) detention center went on strike because of low wages, they refused to intrude into the service and safeguard pending trial.
